How the North Carolina Association of REALTORSⓇ ensured their messages were heard amid an unprecedented election season
Sinclair Public Affairs has proven time and time again that successful independent expenditure campaigns don’t have to be negative in nature, or funded by dark money groups. Sinclair transforms this negative perception by disseminating positive media that focuses on what candidates have done for their constituents- highlighting specific and important voter interests.
This honest, strategic, and positively focused approach to traditional independent expenditure (IE) campaigns is why the North Carolina Association of REALTORSⓇ chose Sinclair PA to facilitate its IE campaign in key races and ballot initiatives across the state.
NC REALTORSⓇ chose to participate in this critical election cycle to ensure their messages of affordable housing access and job growth were not only part of, but heard amid the busy 2020 campaign season. Their goal was to shape perception by sharing accomplishments that support North Carolina realtor initiatives, highlight relevant voter interests, and encourage voter participation.
These campaigns proved highly successful- relying solely on strategy and positive narratives. For the REALTORSⓇ endorsed candidates, Sinclair PA utilized an array of communications tools to break through the noise- including direct mail, digital ads, videos, and peer-peer texting.
As campaign efforts turned completely digital by default of a tech-driven world amplified by COVID-19, peer-peer texting was crucial for the success of NC REALTORSⓇ 2020 General Election expenditure campaigns. The use of peer-peer texting alongside direct mail and other traditional earned media efforts proved a highly effective tactic, that allowed quick and timely reminders and points of interest throughout the season.
NC REALTORSⓇ were both methodical and strategic in their chosen races and candidates- ultimately allowing them to perform well in high-profile races. For example; their endorsement of Sen. Amy Galey was instrumental in ensuring affordable housing access and job growth in North Carolina, as this open race helped secure a key-race in the North Carolina state Senate.
NC REALTORSⓇ proved just as instrumental in key areas, playing heavily in local commissioner races and important ballot initiatives, like the Trinity Alcohol Sales and the Guilford School Bond ballot initiatives.
Using this blended approach of both traditional and digital media to reach voters across the state, NC REALTORSⓇ earned the top PAC ranking in the state with a total of $1,212,277.
While IE campaign strategies and tactics need to remain flexible, one factor never wavers. Sinclair PA always represents our clients and their chosen candidates with positive and supportive messaging – to elicit substantial real world change and to ensure a fair race every time.
