Sinclair PA, a leading regional communications firm, expands client base and offerings with award winning campaigns, successful ballot initiatives and broader social media, videography capabilities

Raleigh, N.C. – Sinclair Public Affairs announced team expansions and reorganization to provide its growing client base additional expertise following successful ballot initiatives and award winning social media campaigns for clients in 2020.

The firm, recently named a leading firm in the United States by Upcity created and implemented several award-winning earned media and social media campaigns on behalf of clients during the challenges of communicating during the pandemic. One of these recognized social media campaigns raised awareness about a nationwide effort to collect personal protective equipment for hospitals in less than two weeks during the early days of the crisis.  The team also managed communications for several election cycle clients, including the Raleigh Affordable Housing Bond Campaign in support of the city-wide ballot initiative that won with more than 70 percent of the vote in November.

“Like so many other companies and industries, we did not know how 2020 would impact our business or the business outlook for our clients,” said Chris Sinclair, Founder & CEO.  “I’m proud of our team’s efforts during difficult times to quickly pivot and provide excellent counsel to our clients in the face of uncertainty.  I’m confident we’ve helped them find timely and smart solutions to their challenges –  while also showing the power that effective communications can have on improving communities.”

Based in North Carolina, Sinclair Public Affairs was founded by Chris Sinclair, the company’s CEO with more than two decades as a leading policy strategist in North Carolina.  Chris has been recognized as a top influencer and strategist by multiple organizations, including Campaigns & Elections Magazine’s Top 500 influencers in American Politics.  Chris has broad experience in communications, crisis comms and media relations expertise from working with political leaders, on statewide campaigns and leading state and national associations.  He led the NC team that helped pass Marsy’s Law victims’ rights legislation by over 60 percent of the statewide vote in 2018; and the successful Connect NC bond campaign.

Anna Roberts joins Sinclair Public Affairs as Sr. Vice President after partnering with the group on key clients in recent years.  With 20 years of experience in the government relations and communications industries, Anna’s broad experience includes serving as communications director and spokesperson for the NC House and for the successful statewide Marsy’s Law victims’ rights amendment campaign.  She previously worked for leading PR firms, including CapStrat (now Ketchum) and has served as a senior level PR consultant for dozens of nonprofit and private sectorclients, helping them develop communications plans, and increasingly by incorporating social media tools into their organization’s communications strategies.

Ure Loop was named Group Director for Social Media/Digital services in 2021 – specializing in digital content, design, client relations and team management.  Her background in digital marketing and brand management helps to support client needs effectively – particularly in the increasingly important digital and social media service group as social media platforms outpace traditional media as resources for customers and voters. Ure’s creative abilities have benefited the firm’s clients – she regularly manages in-house digital, social media and web design; resulting in award-winning projects during 2020.

The firm’s Senior Account Director for Account Services, Austin Jayes, manages much of the extensive Independent Expenditure work for the company’s election cycle clients and supports critical projects including videography services and earned media campaign strategies like press release development, media distribution and pitching to reporters.  Austin also manages the team’s extensive metrics reports for clients that provide analytics in support of project tasks and tools generating successful outcomes for Sinclair PA clients.

As Account Manager, Kailey McSwain specializes in social media management, graphic design as well as traditional PR experience in crisis comms management and media relations. Kailey first joined the team last April as an intern, while completing her degree in Public Relations from Appalachian State University, where she served on the public relations board for the Appalachian, the student-run university newspaper.

In addition, the firm employs interns from local universities and colleges studying in communications, business and policy related fields.  The company values this program and will continue to develop student-level professionals embarking on their career path and considering communications.

“I am excited to start the new year with such a solid, capable group of communications professionals ready to serve our existing client base and new clients we’re beginning to work with this year,” said Sinclair. “With an increasingly broad scope of clients in a range of different industries, we bring a level of creativity; coupled with proven, traditional communications strategies based on our collective experiences. Most importantly, we listen to our clients and help them meet their goals.”
